Although Hot Dog Chili should be used as a condiment, we tend to pile it on. We never really get eight servings from this recipe. If you cannot find chili beans add a little more of the spices along with 2 tsp flour. Stir the flour in well, then add half a cup of water or beef broth just before adding drained beans.
1 pound ground chuck
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp granulated garlic
1 Tbsp chili powder
1 15 ounce can chili beans (pinto beans in chili sauce)
1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, brown the ground chuck. stirring often to break up the meat.
2. Add the onion and cook until the onion begins to soften, then stir in the spices. Cook 5 minutes.
3. Add the chili beans in their sauce, reduce the heat to low, and simmer another 15 minutes.
