The flavor of this Summer salad is completely dependent on the quality of the tomatoes. The winter grocery store ones just won’t work. Fresh basil is a must as well.
4 large fresh tomatoes, thickly sliced
1 pound fresh mozzarella, sliced 1/4″ thick
1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, cut in ribbons
1/2 cup bottled Italian dressing
1. On a serving dish, layer alternating slices of tomato and cheese.
2. Sprinkle the basil ribbons over the top and drizzle with the Italian dressing.
3. Serve immediately.
