If you notice the aroma of something in the oven, it’s best to check. I’ve learned that once the smell is pronounced, your dish is probably done. I failed to check on these rolls soon enough.  A heavy brushing of melted butter toned down the color and mellowed the taste, but I nearly had to throw them all away.
