I love baking with fresh cherries, but pitting them can be quite a chore. This little tool makes quick work of the task. You simply place a cherry in the bowl and squeeze. The prong pushes the pit right out of the cherry, leaving just a small hole. Once in a while the prong misses its mark, so I always count the pits. This cherry pitter can also be used with olives.
A cherry pitter similar to this one will run about $12.00 in kitchen stores. Although it’s not a tool I use every day, I think it’s a good investment.
